What is personal data?

What data do we collect?
When you use our website, we record the internet browser used, browser language, operating system, any Java settings, screen resolution, color depth, click behavior on the website, and the referrer URL, i.e., the website from which our website was visited.
Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing
We use anonymized data about the use of and interaction with our website to improve our website (e.g., to increase user-friendliness). This data is used in aggregate form for the purpose of operating, securing, and optimizing our website. We use cookies to collect this data.
Cookies

Matomo (formerly Piwik)
This website uses the open-source software Matomo (formerly Piwik) to analyze and statistically evaluate website usage. A cookie is also used for this purpose. The information generated about website usage is summarized into user profiles. This information is used to evaluate website usage and user-friendliness and subsequently optimize it. This information is not shared with third parties. IP addresses are also anonymized here to make assignment impossible (IP masking).
Other categories of recipients
We transfer the personal data we receive to the following external service providers (processors) to the extent necessary:

Retention period / Deletion periods
We only store personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed.Cookie data and usage data are stored by us for a maximum of 12 months. Due to our statutory retention obligations, we store your data until the expiry of the corresponding retention period (usually seven years).
Rights of data subjects
Data subjects (natural persons whose personal data is processed) generally have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection. So that we can process your request regarding these rights and to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to unauthorized third parties, please submit your request with clear identification (presentation of an officially valid ID) and a brief description of the extent to which you are exercising your listed data subject rights.
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been violated in any way, you can file a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, the Data Protection Authority is responsible.
